Film, like any other media, reflects that ultimate commitments and assumptions of the makers. Humans must “have faith” or ultimate philosophical commitments that are not easily proven by scientific or empirical means. Sometimes these commitments or presuppositions are consciously held by the makers of art, but sometimes not. Sometimes such makers intentionally portray their commitments in their work, sometimes not. In this place, we will explore the ways in which the faith of film writers, producer and directors are expressed in their work.
